Black Sheep is a coming-of-age graphic novel ten years in the making. It follows high schoolers Cybil and Parker, whose runaway adventure forces them to confront their family traumas, their future aspirations, and the strength of their friendship. Black Sheep was the primary project during my Brandon Fellowship at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts. My exhibition consisted of a 24-page comic and accompanying concept illustrations.

I created Black Sheep during a challenging period of my adolescence. But as I grew from these difficult experiences, the story and characters evolved alongside me. At its core, Black Sheep is about unattended wounds of the past and, when left unaddressed, how they can manifest in the present.
